The Pit Opens Location on Evansville’s East Side

As many of you may know by now, it has been a monumental task to accomplish the opening of our east side facility.  We have searched for several years to find what we thought was the perfect spot for the expansion of our gym.  We are very limited at our Edgar Street facility with such issues as parking, space, location, etc.  We do still love the Edgar Street location, but we wanted to offer our wonderful family of customers so much more.

We have added many new state of the art pieces of cardio equipment including the 2 Octane Lateral X and the Jacob’s Ladder.  We also added a line of Legend Equipment for strength training and new Nautilus Nitro and the Pit Shark coming soon.  The Pit has always been well known for the selection of equipment and we are following with that tradition.  We have been open for about a month now and have been blessed with many new customers along with lots of familiar favorite faces.

We have even talked Bud into visiting regularly.  He thinks he will LOVE the Jacob’s Ladder.  The Pit has always been a wonderful place to hang out and visit – where you can hear lots of stories about feats of strength that took place back in the day.  We have the trophies, the pictures, and the magazine/newspaper articles to prove it!   No bragging, just facts!

Our new facility turned out so much better than we were ever expected with the help of Ryan Batchelor and the whole crew at Hinderliter Construction.  We wanted to make our new location a mirror of the downtown facility that Bud Downen and Dick Conner spent so much time building up over the years.   We have so much appreciated all the hard work Bud and Dick put into preserving the artifacts and the articles for our enjoyment.  We have found items that we didn’t even know existed – and will be posting pictures of those soon. Follow us on facebook to keep up with all our picture postings.  Also, come in to check out our new equipment and our “museum” of pictures/memorabilia.  In this season of Thanksgiving, we want to express how appreciative we are of each and every one of our members, and all the folks who were instrumental in helping us attain this goal.   We have always enjoyed the helpful attitude of our membership and the folks who truly want to see The Pit succeed.  Thanks you so much for all your support.  I thank my God every time I remember you – Phillippians 1:3.
